Caleb is 5 1/2 years old now, and unlike his younger brother, Andrew, who is 2, he rarely throws tantrums anymore. I can’t remember the last time he totally lost it, which is a good thing. Well, last night, Caleb had the thrown-down, lost all sense of control tantrum that puts any parent’s patience to the ultimate test. He was furious because Andrew had deleted his name on his Leapster Math Missions game, thus erasing all of his hard-earned points. I tried calming him down, but it was no use. He chose to go down to his room to calm down. As I approached his door a few minutes later, I encountered this sign on the floor outside his door:
It made me laugh. Fortunately, he had calmed down and allowed me into the room. After some talking and tickles he was all better. He’s such a good kid, and we love him even when he wants us to "keep out."
