For the last 4 or 5 years, the only thing Don has wanted for his birthday is Fried Chicken and to hang out with friends. And it was no different this year. A small gathering of friends and both sets of our parents (Tenille’s parents were in-town) joined us for some fried chicken, Don’s favorite Cold Stone strawberry ice cream cake, and a game of Psychiatrist. We had a great time. Then, on Don’s actual birthday, October 24th, Tenille surprised Don at work by decorating his office and bringing a cake to share with his co-workers. We lit the candles and sang Happy Birthday in his office. Fortunately, the sprinklers didn’t go off as we later found out that candles are prohibited inside Microsoft buildings. Oops! The evening of the 24th, our good friends, Adam and Kay Robinson, and Karlin and Mollie Kersavage (who are also our neighbors) stopped by for some ice cream. The Robinsons gave Don a Magic Book, and the Kersavages gave him hand puppets. Don was thrilled with both presents. He has provided us with some stellar card tricks, and we enjoy playing with the puppets with Caleb. It was a great 31st birthday for Don. The only thing that would have made it better is a carputer!
